Welcome Modern

The Kim Trinder Bywater Cancer Foundation, has been established in order to raise funds for equipment and services that will further the amazing work done by all the staff at the Freeman General hospital and North Tyneside General Hospital, particularly the work of the oncology teams.

Kim was only 28 when she died, she was diagnosed with a particularly rare aggressive form of cancer (Bronchoalveolar cell carcinoma) in July 2004. Throughout her illness Kim’s attention was always on her family and friends and her fellow patients at the hospital. She always believed there was always someone worse off than herself despite the fact she was so ill. Kim continued to work until just two days before she died. Kim’s attitude towards life has inspired all the people that knew her not to give up hope but to make a difference.

The Kim Trinder-Bywater cancer foundation provides financial support to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. It helps by providing oncology units with medical equipment to reduce waiting lists, and provides the essential oils and other items used by the therapists ensuring patients are able to take advantage of this top-class pampering service completely free of charge.
